5 blogs that I like

These are 5 blogs that I find to be interesting and relevant to my life.

(1) http://nyceducator.com/ - A blog on the political and internal issues of NYC education from the perspective of a NYC teacher.

(2) http://www.orangette.blogspot.com/- A blog on cooking experiences, tips and recipes.

(3) http://www.slashfilm.com/- A blog on all movie news.

(4) http://blog.mawbooks.com/- A blog on book reviews.

(5) http://www.womenhealthzone.com/- a comprehensive blog on women's health in multiple aspects.

The internet is a vast never ending digital universe with no end in sight. While searching for blogs, it took me a good few hours to find 5 that actually appealed to me. 3.13 BILLION searches returned when I typed in "blog" in the search engine. Who can really go through that many search results to find the perfect 5 blogs? I do not have any physical nor mental capacities to take on such an endeavor. I had to be more specific... I started to think about my life and what is most important to me. I am a high school teacher; cooking on a daily basis is essential for my survival; I watch movies 5 days a week; I read at least an hour a day; I am very conscientious about my health. I took these aspects of my life and narrowed my search.
I know that I have grieved about my issues about the politics and systematic failure of the NYC education system. I wondered what other teachers in NYC thought about their circumstances as an educator. NYCeducator.com gives insight to the issues of what teachers are facing. Not only is this educator's opinion is given, but there are related news articles that readers can take a look at to be better informed on where these emotions are coming from. I found it most appealing on it's simple layout. It's not colorful, but easy to navigate. I'm left more informed with the blog and knowing that I am not alone in my own personal issues and feelings towards my job.
Food is a big aspect to my life. I make three meals a day and I usually try to make it an experience. If I don't enjoy my food, I become very upset and dissatisfied. I stumbled upon Orangenette.blogspot.com. This is another blog that is easy to navigate. It has a simple and clean layout. I especially enjoyed the author's experience with food and what she thought about the food she ate. It reminds me of the movie "Julie and Julia." With her thoughts on her food experiences she provided very appetizing pictures which made me really hungry. If the food looks good enough a recipe is provided as well, if I have an inking to remake the picture into reality the information is provided.
Usually after dinner I will watch a movie with my family at least 3-4 times a week. I also enjoy going to the theaters to watch a movie as well. Slashfilm.com is a comprehensive site. It gives upcoming movie news, movie reviews, new DVD releases, videos to trailers for upcoming movies and a calendar for when the movies are being released, while readers have an open forum to discuss any of the content. It has a lot of visuals, and I feel as if I can spend hours on this blog.
Reading is also a pass-time of mine. The author of blog.mawbooks.com set up a challenge for herself. She allotted certain books to read under different genres, and once she is done she will give her opinion. Her list of books are books that I have been interested in reading. But with work, grad school and daily bustle of life, I can't dedicate as much time to reading as I'd like to and come to my own conclusions. Instead, with this blog I can review what she has read, and it will help with my decision making for future reading escapades. It's a simple format, but has links to her past review archives and links to stores to buy books that she has read.
Lastly, I try to be healthy on a regular basis. Womenhealthzone.com is an extremely comprehensive site in women's health covering many different aspects to what issues women face and what women can do to better their lives mentally, emotionally, sexually, physically and reproductively. The authors of the site post articles to all of these issues, and help with readers and their issues. Readers can also be contributors to the blog by submitting their own sources of information on health. This site has a lot of visuals and is very well organized making navigation easy.
Overall, what makes these blogs "good" are for the following reasons: I have an interest in the subject content provided by each blog: Each blog is easy to navigate: Each blog has an option for readers to be interactive with the author: and each blog is packed with information that can draw me in for periods of time.
